IN 1982, a group of theater people saw a need for great theater productions in the Corcoran neighborhood, so Corcoran Park Players was established and staged productions from 1982-2016. Following our tenure at Corcoran Park, we played in assorted other venues in the Twin Cities. After 35 years, in 2017, we renamed our organization, Classics Lost 'n' Found Theater Company to continue providing great theater to local audiences. We've still producing while other theaters are long gone. When you see a CLFTC production, you see what we're all about.

Our Mission

Our History

Our Mission

Our mission has always been producing great productions, either popular recent works; plays by classic playwrights to be rediscovered or area/world premieres of new works. We've always been open to diverse casting and inventive staging, being flexible with sets, costumes and lighting while being focused on entertaining our audiences.

In MEMORIAM

Geraldine A. Gulbranson, 1947-2025

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our dear friend Gerry Gulbranson. Gerry was a major player with Corcoran Park Players for decades, playing such roles as Madame Arcati in Blithe Spirit; Aunt Ev in The Miracle Worker, Josie Hogan in A Moon for the Misbegotten, Miss Marple in A Murder is Announced and Carrie Watts in The Trip to Bountiful. She also worked with such theaters as Atlantis, Out on the Town and the Minneapolis Community College Theater. Her last appearance was at the FASTFEST in Cloquet last August in a play by Jon Skallen. Gerry was also a dear friend to us all. She will be missed.

CLFTC is hoping to have a memorial gathering for her this Spring.

Keeping You in the know!

Playwright Noreen K. Brandt

A group of lunch ladies preparing meals for an Alien invasion; an Agatha Christiesque tea party; a pair of odd detectives trying to establish the cause of death as they walk all over the body lying in front of them. These are the themes running through the plays of Noreen K. Brandt, whose work is among the most frequently works that are produced in Twin Cities Community Theater.

Brandt’s work is regularly presented by Corcoran Park Player Classics Lost ‘N’ Found Theater Company, MACT (Minnesota Association of Community Theaters) Festivals and elsewhere. Like other playwrights, some of these plays don’t always work, but when they do, they are very entertaining evenings of theater. Many of them are short, so they can be combined into a full-length production.

Several of them have met with surprising success. After a visit to Ireland, her complied script, Ghosts of the Emerald Isle was among the most popular shows done by Classics Lost ‘N’ Found Theater Company. Home-Not So Sweet-Homeless explored the troubles of people living on the streets, and the production served as a fundraiser, which raised $1500 donated to a local homeless shelter.  Ghoulies and Ghosties: Tales of Horror and Suspense was recently revised and revived by the Company. Her trilogy of plays about women of Winn-Dixie has been discussed for a possible future production.

I’ve personally had the pleasure of directing her scripts, Auditions 101, Meet the Taylors, Death by Anchovy and Meet the Taylors, and they were all great fun to do. However, for me, the script that stands out is The Comedy Murder Mystery Spoof Radio Show. I was a participant in the first reading, and remember laughing from the first stage direction to the end. This play really hit my funny bone. I’ve seen the show several times and it’s still my favorite of all her work.

For the past five years, Classics Lost ‘N’ Found Theater Company has staged a summer production outside at Lake Nokomis Community Center. These productions have included Shakespeare’s 12th Night, a quartet of short plays later presented at MACT’s FastFest in Cloquet, MN, and three of Brandt’s original scripts: Miss Robin Hood and Her Merry Band of Thieves was the first. It was followed by Pirates in the Park, a collection of short pieces with a nautical theme.

Classics Lost ‘N’ Found Theater Company will present the sequel to this show, titled Pirates in the Park, Part Deux at Lake Nokomis Community Center beginning June 20th at 7pm. Additional performances are June 21, 27 and 28 at 7pm, with 2pm matinees on June 21 and 28.

Bring a blanket or lawn chair. The production is free, but don’t be surprised if these pirates try to fleece some doubloons from you!
